Static IP for broker API trading: options and pricing
Many brokers need a fixed IP to allow API access. With Stocks Developer, a static IP is a small add-on, inclusive of all taxes. If your broker supports IPv6, you get a Premium static IPv6 — the fastest option — at ₹100 per month. If your broker is IPv4 only, you choose from three options: a Premium static IP we set up for you (a dedicated IP, faster and more reliable, ₹299 per month with a 3-month minimum to start), a Standard static IP from our pool (₹200 per month), or bring your own IP (BYOIP), which we never charge for. Each account that uses a static IP is billed for its own IP, on that account's own recharge — your static IP belongs to that one account. Angel One is IPv4 only and the Standard pool option is not offered there, so for Angel One you pick Premium or bring your own.
In short

You open the Static IP option while editing your account and pick the choice that suits you — the options you see depend on your broker.
Angel One works a little differently. Angel One is IPv4 only, and the Standard pool option is not offered for it. For an Angel One account you either buy a Premium static IP we set up for you (you just whitelist it — ₹299 per month, 3-month minimum to start) or bring your own IPv4 static IP (BYOIP). What a static IP costs
Which options you see depend on your broker.
If your broker supports IPv6 — one option:

How the charge works
- A pool IP’s first month is charged when it is assigned. For a Premium static IPv6 (₹100) or a Standard static IPv4 (₹200), your wallet needs at least the IP’s monthly price before you take the IP.
- A Premium static IPv4 starts with a 3-month payment. The first purchase of a Premium static IPv4 we set up for you is for a minimum of 3 months (₹897); after that it renews every month on its own while your wallet has balance.
- It renews with your account recharge. After the first charge, the IP renews together with your account recharge, so there is no separate payment to remember.
- Each account is billed for its own static IP. A static IP belongs to one account and is charged on that account’s own recharge.
- A replaced IP does not cost extra. If an IP ever has to be replaced (for example, your broker rejects it), contact support — we replace it free of charge and the new IP continues on the time you already paid for, so you never pay twice.
Why a static IP matters
Many Indian brokers only allow API access from a fixed IP address that you register with them. A normal internet connection changes its IP often, so it does not work for this. You need a static IP that stays the same.
So a static IP is not a nice-to-have for API trading — for many brokers it is required. The only question is which option you pick and what you pay for it.

Stocks Developer never names other companies. The point is simply that our static IP is a low, tax-inclusive price and is set up for you.
Bring your own IP (BYOIP)
If you prefer to use your own IP, you can — and we never charge for it:
- Buy a dedicated static IP directly from any static IP vendor (choose an India location and a fixed IP). You buy it yourself, so it is always available to you.
- Add that IP in one place (Settings → My IPs, in the Proxy pool tab), then attach it to the account from the account’s card on the same My IPs page, or with the Static IP option while editing the account.

You do not have to configure anything
With a do-it-yourself setup you have to find a static IP, pay for it, and enter proxy details correctly. One mistake and your broker blocks the connection.
With Stocks Developer there is no proxy to set up. A static IP is set up for your account, and you simply register that IP in your broker’s dashboard. If you would rather use your own IP, you can do that instead.

Taking our static IP on a new account
Every new account gets the free 1-month trial, on every broker — and taking a static IP from us does not change that. The trial covers the account licence; the static IP is a separate charge:
- A pool IP’s first month is charged when the IP is assigned, so your wallet needs at least ₹100 (Premium IPv6) or ₹200 (Standard IPv4) — even while the account is in its free trial month.
- A Premium static IPv4 starts with a 3-month payment (₹897) at purchase.
- After that the IP renews together with your account recharge.
Bringing your own IP: you also get the free 1-month trial, and there are no IP charges and no balance needed.
