Static IP Setup
Get a static IP for your broker API, by auto-assign or by bringing your own.
Many brokers need a static IP for your trading account's API. You have two ways to get one. Option A: let our system auto-assign a dedicated static IP from our pool, best for most users. Option B: bring your own IP (BYOIP) using your own proxy or IPv6 address. The steps are the same for every broker.
Many brokers require a static IP for your trading account’s API. The setup is the same for every broker, so this single guide applies to all of them.
Two ways to get a static IP
| Option | What it does | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| A — Auto-assign IP (recommended) | Our system assigns a dedicated static IP from our pool. | You want the simplest setup. |
| B — Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) | You supply your own proxy or IPv6 address. | You already have a dedicated VPS or IPv6 block. |
Both options are described below.
IPv6 static IP — recommended where your broker supports it
Whenever your broker supports it on their trading API, we recommend an IPv6 static IP. Here is why:
- Fastest. IPv6 static IPs run with no lag or delay.
- Free. We provide IPv6 static IPs at no cost. (IPv4 static IPs may become chargeable in the future.)
- Ultra reliable. They stay stable and dependable.
These brokers support IPv6 static IPs today:
- Zerodha
- Fyers
- Upstox
- IIFL
- 5paisa
- Groww
- Dhan
- AliceBlue
- Kotak
If your broker is not on this list, we strongly recommend you contact your broker and ask them to support IPv6 static IPs on their trading API. The more users who ask, the sooner they add it.
Angel One — please bring your own static IP
We provide a free static IP for every broker. For Angel One only, free static IPs from our pool are not available right now, so you will need to arrange your own static IP for your Angel One account.
- Angel One supports IPv4 only (it does not support IPv6).
- Buy a dedicated IPv4 static IP from a third-party vendor and add it as your own IP. See Option B — Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) below.
Option A — Auto-assign IP
This is a 2-step process.
Step 1: Get your static IP from our system first
Before creating your broker API, get your static IP from us:
- In our system, go to Accounts → Trading Accounts → Edit or Create Account
- Select your Broker and enter your Login ID
- Click the “Auto-Assign IP” button — the system will immediately reserve a static IP for you
- Note down the IP shown:
- IPv4 → One primary IP is provided
- IPv6 → Both primary and secondary IPs are provided
Your IP is reserved for 24 hours. Save your account within this time to permanently assign it.
Step 2: Register the static IP with your stock broker (existing API key or a new one)
Register the static IP from Step 1 with your broker. You can add it to an existing broker API key, or create a new API key — either works. On your broker’s API screen, fill in the details:
- IP Type: IPv4 or IPv6 (as assigned in Step 1)
- Primary Static IP: (shown in Step 1)
- Secondary Static IP: (shown in Step 1 — only for IPv6)
- Algo Registration Type: Non-Registered
- API/Algo Category: “Below” or “Less than” 10 orders per second
Once the broker API is created, go back to our system, add any API credentials which may be pending, click Validate and Save the account. The static IP will be automatically applied to your account.

Changing or removing your auto-assigned IP
If you want a different static IP for an account (for example, your broker says the IP is already used by another account), you must first remove the current IP, then get a new one:
- Go to Accounts → Trading Accounts and click the pencil (edit) icon next to the account.
- Click the dustbin (delete) icon next to the IP address shown to remove the current IP.
- Click “Auto-Assign IP” again — the system gives you a different static IP.
- Register this new IP with your broker, then come back, click Validate and Save.
Clicking “Auto-Assign IP” without first deleting the current IP keeps the same IP. Delete it first to get a new one.
Option B — Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP)
Use this option if you have a dedicated VPS or proxy server that you want to use instead of an IP from our system.
Note: Only one IP source can be active at a time. Activating BYOIP will automatically remove any system-assigned IP, and vice versa.
Buying a proxy static IP
You only need this if your broker does not support IPv6. For IPv4, the static IPs from our pool already perform well. If you are not happy with the speed, you can buy your own static IP proxy from a third-party vendor and use it as your BYOIP.
When you buy, make sure the proxy matches these points:
| Criteria | What to choose |
|---|---|
| Type | Datacenter IPv4, dedicated static IP. Do not buy a Pay-per-GB plan — those give a dynamic IP. |
| Location | Mumbai (or anywhere in India). |
You can search online for proxy vendors that meet the above criteria. A few sample vendors:
| Vendor | Notes |
|---|---|
| staticip.in | India-based proxy provider. |
| algoip.in | India-based proxy provider. |
| IPRoyal | IPs in Mumbai and Rajasthan. Choose Datacenter → Create a new order, set Proxy location to India. |
These vendors are listed only as examples — we are not affiliated with any of them. Compare and pick whatever suits you.

Step 1: Save your proxy in “My Proxies”
Before assigning a proxy to an account, register it once in your proxy library:
- Go to Settings → My Proxies
- Click “Add Proxy”
- Fill in the details:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Label | Give name of account you are going to use this proxy for (helps identify easily) |
| Proxy Host | IP address or hostname of your proxy server |
| Port | Port number (1–65535) |
| Username | Proxy authentication username |
| Password | Proxy authentication password |
- Click Save
You can add multiple proxies here and reuse them across accounts.
Step 2: Assign the proxy to your trading account
For a new account (before saving):
- While adding a new account, enter your Broker and Login ID
- Click “Bring Your Own IP”
- Select the proxy from your saved list
- The proxy is reserved immediately — proceed to fill in remaining account details and Save
For an existing account:
- Go to Accounts → Trading Accounts
- Click the pencil icon to edit your account
- Click “Bring Your Own IP”
- Select the proxy from your saved list and click “Apply”
- You will see the proxy displayed with a “Your IP” badge
Changing your proxy
- Click “Bring Your Own IP” again on the account edit screen
- Select a different proxy from your list and click “Apply”
Removing your proxy
- Click the “Remove” button next to the IP display
- The system will clear your proxy and return the account to unassigned state
- You can then use “Auto-Assign IP” to get a system IP instead
Managing your proxy library
- Go to Settings → My Proxies at any time to add, edit, or delete saved proxies
- Deleting a proxy from “My Proxies” does not affect accounts already using it
