Kotak has placed this account on its server, which does not support IPv6 yet

Kotak has placed this account on a server that does not support IPv6
Kotak puts each account on one of its servers. One of them does not support IPv6 yet, so an IPv6 static IP cannot reach it. If Kotak puts your account there, the login stops with this message. Your API credentials are fine. To keep trading, change the account's trading platform to KOTAK_NEO_IPV4, take an IPv4 static IP, register that IP in Kotak Neo and log in again. When Kotak adds IPv6 to that server you can move back to KOTAK_NEO_IPV6 if you want.
When this happens
- 1 Kotak placed your account on one of its servers that does not support IPv6 yet.
- 2 Your account uses an IPv6 static IP (trading platform KOTAK_NEO_IPV6), which cannot reach a server without IPv6.
What this message means
Kotak decides which of its servers your account uses. Most Kotak servers support IPv6. One of them does not support IPv6 yet.
Your Kotak account uses an IPv6 static IP. An IPv6 address cannot reach a server that has no IPv6. So if Kotak puts your account on that server, nothing would work after login.
Instead of letting every request fail, AutoTrader Web stops the login and shows this message:
Kotak has placed this account on its server …, which does not support IPv6 yet, so your IPv6 static IP cannot reach it.
- Your API credentials are fine. Kotak accepted your login.
- Your static IP is fine. It works on every other Kotak server.
- No order was placed. The login stopped before any request was sent.
Only Kotak can move your account to another server or add IPv6 to this one.
How to fix it
Switch this account to an IPv4 static IP. An IPv4 address reaches every Kotak server.
- Go to Accounts → Trading Accounts and open the account.
- Change Trading Platform to KOTAK_NEO_IPV4.
- Click the Static IP button and take an IPv4 static IP. You can pick a Standard static IPv4 at ₹150 per month, a Premium static IPv4 at ₹250 per month, or bring your own IP for free.
- Register that IPv4 address in Kotak Neo, the same way you registered your IPv6 address.
- Save the account, then log in again.
Put the new address in carefully. Brokers let you change your registered IP addresses only once in seven days, so a mistyped address cannot be corrected until the next week.
When Kotak fixes the server
When Kotak adds IPv6 to that server, this message stops by itself. Your account keeps working on KOTAK_NEO_IPV4.
If you want the cheaper IPv6 option again (₹100 per month), you can change the trading platform back to KOTAK_NEO_IPV6 and register the IPv6 address with Kotak again. We do not move your account for you.
Other Kotak IP messages
- “Session IP doesn’t match with request IP” / unauthorized: the request reached Kotak, and Kotak rejected the IP because it is not registered. See Broker rejects your IP.
- Kotak’s own system fails: see Broker server error.
