Order price must be higher than zero for LIMIT order

In short

A LIMIT order must have a price above zero. The order had a price of zero, so it was rejected. Set a valid price, or change the order type to MARKET to trade at the market price.

Why this happens

A LIMIT order tells the broker the exact price at which you want to buy or sell. A price of zero is not valid for this order type, so the order is rejected with this error.

How to fix it

You have two options:

  • Set a price above zero for the LIMIT order.
  • Or change the order type to MARKET, if you want the order to execute at the current market price.
