Broker specific instrument not found
This error means AutoTrader Web could not find this contract for your broker in our system. It is not something you can fix by changing the symbol. The contract is either missing from your broker's instrument list, or it is not loaded on our side. Please report it to our support team with the full error message (it names the broker, exchange and symbol) so we can investigate and add the instrument.
When this happens
- 1 The contract is missing from your broker's instrument list in our system.
- 2 The contract did not get loaded on our side when we last updated your broker's instruments.
What this error means
AutoTrader Web shows this error when it knows the instrument you want to trade, but it cannot find that same contract for your specific broker in our system.
AutoTrader Web uses broker independent symbols. When you place an order, it takes that common symbol and looks up the matching contract for the broker on that trading account. If that broker specific contract is not present in our system, you see this error.
This is different from Instrument not found. That error means the Exchange and Symbol you passed are wrong and you can correct them yourself. This error means the instrument is fine, but the broker specific copy is missing on our side.
How to fix it
Please report this to our support team. This is not something you can fix by changing the symbol. The contract is either missing from your broker’s instrument list, or it did not load on our side, so our team needs to look into it and add the instrument for you.
When you contact us, please include the full error message. It already names the broker, exchange and symbol we could not match (for example the broker, the exchange and the contract symbol shown in your error), which is exactly what we need to investigate and fix it quickly.
