I deleted a saved basket, but its name is still in use
- Deleting retires a basket, it does not erase it. The name stays reserved.
- This protects your history. Baskets you have already placed point back at the saved one, so it has to stay.
- To reuse the name: type it, click Save, then choose Replace it.
- That also brings the old basket back into your Saved baskets list.
- Or simply pick another name. Nothing is stuck either way.
What you are seeing
On the Options screen you can save a basket and load it again later.
You delete one — say Weekly strangle. Later you build a new structure, try to save it under that same name, and the screen says the name is already in use.
Nothing has gone wrong. This is on purpose.
Why the name stays reserved
Deleting a saved basket retires it. It does not erase it.
The reason is your own history. Every basket you have actually placed points back at the saved basket it came from. That is how the My baskets tab can tell you what each placed basket was. If deleting really erased the saved basket, those entries would lose the thing they refer to.
So the basket is kept, hidden from your list, and its name is kept with it.
How to use the name again
- Build the structure you want.
- Click Save and type the same name.
- The screen tells you the name belongs to a deleted basket, and offers you two choices.
- Choose Replace it.
The new structure is saved under that name, and the old basket comes back into your Saved baskets list at the same time.
If you would rather keep them apart, choose Use a different name instead.
Two lists, two meanings
It helps to keep these apart:
- Saved baskets — structures you saved to reuse. Nothing has been placed.
- My baskets — the tab showing baskets you have actually placed, with their orders and profit or loss.
Deleting from Saved baskets never removes anything from My baskets. Your placed baskets and their orders are untouched.
