Kite: Invalid CAPTCHA values

In short

Kite shows a CAPTCHA mostly when wrong credentials were entered. A computer cannot read the code hidden in the CAPTCHA image, so the automatic connection cannot complete. Fix it by logging in to the Kite website (not the mobile app) until the CAPTCHA stops appearing, then check your credentials and validate the account again in AutoTrader Web.

Why this happens

A CAPTCHA shows a random code inside an image, and you have to type that code to log in. Kite mostly shows it when wrong credentials were entered.

A computer cannot read the code hidden in a CAPTCHA image. So while Kite keeps asking for the CAPTCHA, the automatic connection cannot complete.

Solution

  1. Manually log in to the Kite website (not the mobile app) until it stops showing you the CAPTCHA screen on your login screen.
  2. Only once Kite stops showing you the CAPTCHA screen, proceed with the steps below.
  3. Go to the menu (Accounts -> Trading Accounts).
  4. Click the small EDIT icon next to your Kite account’s client id or login id.
  5. Once Kite stops showing the CAPTCHA, come back to AutoTrader Web and make sure your credentials are correct.
  6. Then click on validate, and once successful, save the account.
