My account shows Logged Out — how do I log it back in?

In short

If a trading account shows Logged Out, there is no active session at that moment. This is normal and not an error — you see it at the start of a trading day, after you change an account, or after your account was unblocked. You usually do not need to do anything: for almost every account the session starts on its own the moment you begin using the account — for example when you open Trading -> Portfolio — and the status changes to Logged In on its own. If you want to log it in right away, or check it before the market opens, make sure the account is marked Live and click the Validate All button on the Trading Accounts screen; this logs in all your live accounts. A few broker platforms need you to log in yourself on the broker's page — for those a Login button appears in the Login column; click it to finish the login. You do not need to edit the account and Save again — that is only for adding a new account or changing its details.

When this happens

  1. 1 It is the start of a new trading day, so there is no session yet.
  2. 2 You just changed the account — for example its live / non-live status or its credentials.
  3. 3 Your account was blocked and has now been unblocked, so the earlier session ended.

What “Logged Out” means

Logged Out is not an error. It simply means there is no active session for that account at the moment. You will see it at the start of a trading day, after you change an account (its live status or its credentials), or after your account was unblocked by the broker.

You usually do not need to do anything

For almost every account, the session starts again on its own the moment you begin using the account. For example, open Trading -> Portfolio and the account connects automatically — the Session status changes to Logged In and it is ready to trade. So in most cases Logged Out clears by itself as soon as you start working with the account.

Log it in right away

If you want to bring the account to Logged In immediately, or check your accounts before the market opens:

  1. Open Accounts -> Trading Accounts.
  2. Make sure the account is marked Live (the Live column shows YES). If it shows NO, select the account and click Live.
  3. Click the Validate All button.

Validate All logs in all your live accounts. On success the account’s Session status changes to Logged In.

You do not need to edit the account and click Save again. Editing and saving is only for adding a new account or changing its details — it is not how you reconnect an account that is simply logged out.

Brokers that need a manual login

For most accounts the connection happens on its own, so you never have to press anything. Only a few broker platforms need you to log in yourself on the broker’s page. For those, a Login button appears in the Login column of the Trading Accounts screen. Click it, finish the login on the broker’s page, and the session becomes active.

If the status shows Error

If the status shows Error instead of Logged In, click Validate All and read the message in the Message column — it shows the exact reason given by the broker (for example a wrong API key, an expired password, or a TOTP problem). Fix that and click Validate All again. If you are not sure what the message means, ask our support chatbot for help.
