Angel One AB1007 errors (causes and fixes)
AB1007 is a generic error code that Angel One uses for many different problems, not just a wrong password. The exact text shown after "AB1007 -" tells you the real cause, and each cause has its own fix. The common ones are wrong login details (Login ID, MPIN, password or API key), an invalid token, a locked MPIN after too many wrong attempts, a margin product that is not allowed (use Delivery instead), an order price beyond the Limit Price Protection range, or holdings not authorised for sale via EDIS. Read your message and follow the matching section below.
When this happens
- 1 Wrong Login ID, MPIN, password or Smart API Key, or a Login ID not migrated to Smart API.
- 2 INVALID MPIN, or MPIN attempts exceeded (the account is locked for a few minutes).
- 3 Invalid Token — usually a routine daily session expiry.
- 4 Buying back a position in a Margin product when the broker wants a Delivery product.
- 5 Order price beyond the Limit Price Protection range set by the exchange.
- 6 Holdings not authorised for sale via EDIS.
You see this error while using an Angel One trading account. Our system connects with Angel One through their Smart API product. AB1007 is a generic code — Angel One returns it for many different problems, so the same code can mean very different things.
The important part is the text shown after “AB1007 -”. That text tells you the real cause. Find your message in the sections below and follow the matching fix.
For account setup steps, see the Angel One Setup guide.
Wrong Login ID, MPIN, password or API key
Messages like “Your user id or password is invalid” or “INVALID MPIN. Attempt 4/5” mean the saved login details do not match. A common cause is changing your MPIN or password on the Angel One app or website, after which the saved login no longer matches.
Be careful: repeated wrong MPIN attempts will lock the account (see the next section), so fix the details before trying again.
- Go to the menu (Accounts -> Trading Accounts) and open your Angel account.
- Check these are correct: Login ID (it is case-sensitive), MPIN, and Angel Smart API Key.
- Enter the correct details, click Validate, then Save.
If all the details are correct, your Login ID may not be migrated to Smart API. Ask Angel One to migrate it — raise a request on the Angel One Smart API forum, or email Angel One’s Smart API support at smartapi@angelbroking.com. After they confirm the migration, change your password on Angel One’s website, then enter the new password in AutoTrader Web, click Validate and Save.
MPIN attempts exceeded (account locked for a few minutes)
Messages like “MPIN attempts exceeded limit. Please try again after 15 mins or reset your MPIN” mean Angel One has locked the account for a short time after too many wrong MPIN attempts.
- Wait the number of minutes the message states, or reset your MPIN on the Angel One app or website.
- Once you can log in to Angel One again, update the correct MPIN in our system (Accounts -> Trading Accounts -> open the account), click Validate, then Save.
Invalid Token
“AB1007 - Invalid Token” is almost always a routine daily session expiry. The platform reconnects on its own, so the first thing to do is simply retry. If it keeps failing, see Session expired.
Margin product not allowed — use Delivery
A message like “Buying back of this scrip using Margin Product is not allowed. Please use Delivery Product instead” means the broker will not accept this order in a margin (intraday) product and wants a delivery product.
Fix: change the order’s product type from Intraday / Margin to Delivery (CNC), then place the order again.
Order price beyond the Limit Price Protection range
A message like “Order price is beyond the Limit Price Protection range defined by the exchange. Consider setting the limit price to < 87.15 > or higher” means your limit price is too far from the live price. The exchange sets a price band, and your price is outside it.
Fix: set the limit price to the value the message suggests (or closer to the live price), then place the order again. The message itself tells you the nearest allowed price.
Not authorised via EDIS
A message like “You have not authorised this transaction via EDIS. Please tap reorder to try again” means you are selling delivery holdings that still need a depository authorisation (often shown as EDIS or TPIN).
Fix: authorise the holdings for sale on the Angel One app or website (the EDIS / TPIN authorisation step), then place the sell order again.
