Recharge is not needed yet

In short

This is a warning, not an error. You picked an account that still has more than 15 days of validity left, so you do not need to recharge it today. The message lists each such account with the days left and the date it is valid till. If you go ahead, the money is taken from your wallet straight away and the new month is added on top of the current expiry date. So a recharge is never lost, but it is money paid earlier than you needed to. Click Cancel if you did not mean to recharge, or Recharge anyway if you did. If you already recharged the same account twice, nothing is wasted — that account simply stays valid for one more month.

When this happens

  1. 1 You selected an account that still has more than 15 days of validity left.
  2. 2 You recharged the same account earlier this month and did not realise it was already done.
  3. 3 You selected several accounts together and one of them was already recharged.

What this message means

You clicked Recharge on the Accounts -> Trading Accounts screen, and at least one of the accounts you selected still has plenty of validity left — more than 15 days.

This is only a warning. Nothing has been charged yet, and nothing is wrong with the account. We show it because recharging an account that does not need it is almost always a mistake.

The message lists every such account with:

  • the number of days still left, and
  • the date the account is valid till.

Use that list to check whether you really meant to recharge those accounts.

What happens if you recharge anyway

  • The amount is taken from your wallet straight away.
  • The new month is added on top of the current expiry date, not from today.

So the days are never lost. An account that was valid till 18-Sep stays valid for a month beyond that. The only real cost is that you paid earlier than you needed to.

What to do

  • You did not mean to recharge — click Cancel. Nothing is charged.
  • You did mean to recharge — click Recharge anyway. This is a normal thing to do if you want to pay for a few months in advance.
  • You want to stop thinking about it — turn on Auto Recharge from the menu Settings -> General. Your live accounts are then recharged from your wallet when they expire, so you never need to recharge by hand or watch the expiry date.

I already recharged the same account twice

Nothing is wasted. Both recharges are on that account, so it stays valid for one more month than you expected. Check the Expiry and Days columns on the Trading Accounts screen — they show the new date.

If you recharged the wrong account rather than the same one twice, that is a different situation and we can help. See Can I transfer my recharge or licence days to another account?.

For anything else about a recharge, use the contact options on our contact page.

Why 15 days

It is simply a safe cut-off. An account with more than 15 days left has at least two weeks of trading before it needs anything, so there is no reason to pay today. Below that, the account is close enough to expiry that recharging is reasonable and the warning does not appear.
