Trading platform password expired

In short

This error means the password for your stock broker's trading platform has expired. To fix it: mark your trading account non-live, reset the password on your broker's terminal or website, then update your credentials in AutoTrader (Accounts -> Trading Accounts), validate, save, and mark the account live again.

What this error means

The password of your trading platform (your stock broker’s login) has expired. The broker no longer accepts the old password, so AutoTrader cannot log in to your account.

How to fix it

Follow these steps in order.

1. Mark your trading account non-live

  1. Go to menu (Accounts -> Trading Accounts)
  2. Select the row of your a/c
  3. Click Non-live button at the top

2. Reset your password with your broker

  1. If your trading account is blocked, first unblock it from your stock broker’s trading terminal/website.
  2. Make sure you’re able to login to your stock broker’s trading terminal/website.

3. Update your credentials

  1. Go to menu (Accounts -> Trading Accounts)
  2. Click the small EDIT icon next to your trading account’s client id or login id
  3. Enter/correct your login credentials
  4. Note: If you are not sure about certain fields, then click on the Help link which you can find on the bottom of the account edit screen.
  5. Click Validate
  6. On successful validation, system will ask you to Save details. Click save.

4. Mark your account live

  1. Go to menu (Accounts -> Trading Accounts)
  2. Select the row of your a/c
  3. Click Live button at the top
