This happens when a user enters wrong trading platform credentials in AutoTrader. It results in AutoTrader trying to login with wrong credentials and your trading account gets blocked due to unsuccessful attempts.
Solution
- Go to menu (Settings -> Trading Accounts)
- Select the row of the account you want to update credentials
- Click Non-Live button on top
- Click the Edit icon next to trading account login id on the same screen
- On your stock broker, UNBLOCK your account
- Update the credentials in our system
- Click on the Validate & Save button
- Make your account Live after successful validation
- Note: Above operations must be done in the given sequence.
- Also note that it is a good idea to check with your broker on what is the expiry duration of the password. And then accordingly you should periodically change credentials of all of the accounts belonging to that broker on a weekend.
