No free trial after adding an account
The free one-month trial is available on supported brokers (Zerodha, Fyers, Upstox, IIFL, 5paisa, Groww, Dhan, AliceBlue and Kotak). On other brokers you also get the trial if you bring your own static IP. The trial is given per account and only once. So you may get no trial for these reasons: your broker does not include a free trial and you did not bring your own IP, or the account was added before and its trial was already used up, or the trial days have run out. To keep using the account, recharge it. Remember the trial starts the moment you add the account, so the days count even if you do not use it.
When this happens
- 1 Your broker does not include a free trial and you did not bring your own static IP. The free trial is available on supported brokers; on other brokers there is no free trial unless you bring your own static IP — otherwise you start with a regular monthly subscription.
- 2 The account was added in the system before and its free trial was already used up. Re-adding it (by you or any user) does not give a new trial.
- 3 The trial starts the day you add the account, so the days keep counting even if you do not use the account or the system during the trial.
Why this happens
The free one-month trial is available on supported brokers — Zerodha, Fyers, Upstox, IIFL, 5paisa, Groww, Dhan, AliceBlue and Kotak. On other brokers you still get the free trial if you bring your own static IP. If you do not bring your own IP on those brokers, there is no free trial and you can start using the account right away with a regular monthly subscription. So the first thing to check is whether your broker includes a trial — see pricing.
On a supported broker, the trial is given per account, only once. So if this account was added in the system before and its trial was already used up, adding it again does not start a fresh trial. This is true even if a different user re-adds the same account.
What to do
To use the account, recharge it. Once you recharge, the account is active again.
- See pricing and how to recharge.
- If recharge fails because of low balance, see Could not recharge account.
Good to know: the trial starts when you add the account
The free trial starts the moment you add the account. The system counts the trial days from that day.
- The days keep counting even if you do not use the account or the system during the trial.
- Once the trial is used up, we do not give another free trial for that account.
Tip: If an account still has trial days left and you recharge it, you do not lose those days — one month is added on top of the days you already have.
