Session expired

This error is rare. There is just one major reason for this error. That is, when a user manually logs in to his trading account; it invalidates AutoTrader Web’s session in his trading account.

Some platforms like Zerodha, Aliceblue, Mastertrust & Finvasia do not permit multiple logins into same account. So if your trading account is being used from AutoTrader Web, then you must remember that AutoTrader Web is already logged into your trading account. If you login manually, this will invalidate the AutoTrader Web’s session & you will get this error.

Kotak users may get this error when Access Token is invalid or expired.

Please check broker specific limitations. If your platform does not allow parallel login, then you or your client must not do parallel login to broker’s trading platform.

Solution

AutoTrader Web is designed to automatically re-login. So first thing to do is to RETRY the order.

If for some reason, you logged in manually on Finvasia, Aliceblue, Mastertrust or Zerodha; then do the following:

  • Finish your work on your trading platform
  • Log out from trading platform
  • Login in to AutoTrader web
  • Go to any of these tabs (orders, position, margins) on the main dashboard
  • This will make sure AutoTrader web re-logs in to your account

Zerodha Kite users please refer this knowledge base.

Finvasia Shoonya users please refer this knowledge base.

Kotak users need to check their Access Token. It should be correct and not expired. Make sure you have mentioned access token validity period as minus 2 (-2) [which means infinite validity]. More details on this link.
