Static IP not renewed because your account licence expired

In short

A static IP renews only while that trading account's licence is active. When the account's licence expires, we stop renewing its static IP and send you an email, so an account you no longer use does not keep paying for an IP it cannot use. You are not charged for the IP while the account stays expired. To keep the same IP, recharge that account — the renewal starts again on its own, and you do not have to whitelist anything with your broker again. For a Premium static IPv4 (the dedicated IP we set up for you), the IP is released about 5 days after its paid-until date if the account is still expired; the email gives you the exact date. After it is released you would need to buy a new static IP and whitelist the new address with your broker, so recharge before that date if you want to keep it.

When this happens

  1. 1 The trading account's licence expired, so the account is not active and we stopped renewing its static IP.
  2. 2 Auto-recharge is turned off for that account, so the licence did not renew on its own.

What this means

A static IP belongs to one trading account, and it renews only while that account’s licence is active.

When an account’s licence expires, we stop renewing its static IP and send you an email. This is deliberate: an account you no longer use should not keep paying every month for an IP it cannot use. Trading on an expired account is paused anyway.

You are not charged for the IP while the account stays expired.

This is about a static IP you took from us. An IP you brought yourself is never charged and never renewed by us — you renew it with your own provider. See Does the expiry date apply to my own static IP?.

How to keep your static IP

Recharge that trading account.

  1. Add funds to your wallet if needed: open the User menu in the top-right corner (click your name), click Account, and add funds on the Billing tab.
  2. Go to Accounts → Trading Accounts, select the account, and click Recharge.

Once the account is active again, the static IP starts renewing on its own again. You keep the same IP, so there is nothing to whitelist with your broker again.

How long you have to recharge

For a Premium static IPv4 — the dedicated IP we set up for you — the IP is released about 5 days after its paid-until date if the account is still expired. The email we send you gives the exact date.

If the IP is released, you would need to buy a new static IP and whitelist the new address with your broker. So if you want to keep your current IP, recharge the account before that date.

Turn on auto-recharge so this does not happen again

New accounts start with auto-recharge off. With auto-recharge on, the account licence renews on its own, so its static IP keeps renewing too and you never get this email.

Go to Settings → General, find Auto Recharge Accounts in the Billing section, and switch it on. Keep enough balance in your wallet so the renewal can go through.
