AutoTrader Web is a completely transparent system. It means you get full access to our server activity logs which can help you investigate issues. This is unlike any other API or PMS provider, who do not give such access; which makes it difficult to investigate as users do not know whether it was their fault or service provider’s fault.
An activity is a trace or logs of what AutoTrader system is doing. This is a very useful option which allows users to investigate issues or problems. For example, you clicked Square-off but the the square-off did not happen; you might want to investigate and find out what went wrong. In such cases, you can use Activity screen. Go to menu (AutoTrader -> Activity)
All functions are treated as a command by AutoTrader and they return the command id to the function caller. This command id can be used to investigate a specific problem. For example, if one of your order fails to reach trading platform; then you would check what happened in the AutoTrader system by filtering using it’s command id. The command id is optional. When command id is not passed, you will see all activity in your AutoTrader account.
- Select “Activity Date”
- Enter “Command Id” (if you have it, otherwise keep it blank)
- Click “Search”
- You will see the results in descending order of time at which the activity took place
