In short

Use Postman to test the AutoTrader Web APIs before you build. Download our ready-made Postman collection and environment file, import both into Postman, set your `api-key` and `pseudo-acc` values, and you can call every API right away. The APIs are broker independent, so the same calls work across leading Indian stock brokers.

AutoTrader Web APIs are broker-independent APIs used to build trading systems that work with multiple brokers. They currently support leading Indian stock brokers.

Postman is a widely used tool for API testing. We have packaged all of our APIs as a Postman collection so you can try them quickly. Follow the steps below.

Import the collection

  1. Start Postman (use the latest version). Download Postman if you do not have it.
  2. Download the following files:
    1. AutoTrader Web APIs postman collection
    2. AutoTrader Web APIs Environment Variables
  3. In Postman, go to File -> Import.
  4. Import both files you downloaded.

How to use it

Set the environment variables

  1. Click Environments (see screenshot 1 below).
  2. Click Import.
  3. Select the environment file.
  4. Once imported, set your own values:

You can find your API key on the Security settings page. To learn what a pseudo account is, see Pseudo account.

Open the collection

  1. Click Collections (see screenshot 2 below).
  2. You will see the AutoTrader Web APIs collection.
  3. Open any API you want to test.
  4. In the top-right corner, select the environment AutoTrader Web APIs Env.

That’s it. Enjoy your tests.
