Finvasia Account Setup

Steps 1 – Setup API Key

  1. login to prism.shoonya.com
  2. Click on API key Button available on the top right
  3. Click on the API Key then click at generate & Copy it from there

Steps 2 – Setup TOTP

  1. Install Google Authenticator app on your phone
  2. We need the secret key that is provided by Shoonya when you enable the TOTP
  3. Login to Shoonya website
    1. Click on you login id on top right corner
    2. Click security (see screenshot 1 below)
    3. Click TOTP
    4. You’ll be shown your secret totp key; we need to enter this in autotrader web (see screenshot 2 below)

Steps 3 – Add your account

  1. Go to AutoTrader Web create account menu (Settings -> Trading Accounts)
    1. Select you broker as Finvasia
    2. Select platform KAMBALA_FIN_IPV4
    3. Enter trading platform login id & password
    4. Enter TOTP Key
    5. Enter API Key
    6. Enter Vendor Code
    7. Click Validate button
    8. On successful validation & save the account.
  2. That’s it, you have successfully added your Finvasia account. Do not forget to read these known limitations.

2. How to copy security key?

Static IP Setup

This is a 2 step process:

1. Create Broker API using any Dummy IP address

  • If IP address is optional during API creation, then keep it blank.
  • Otherwise, use a dummy IP address during API creation.
    • IP Type: IPv4
    • Primary Static IP:
      • You can use this dummy IP generator website. OR
      • You can just google “what is my ip” & enter your IP
      • Note: we will update this later, in the next step
    • Algo Registration Type: Non-Registered
    • API/Algo Category: “Below” or “Less than” 10 orders per second
  • Now add your account in our system (as explained above) & then come back to Step 2 given below.

2. Add your trading account in our system & then get Static IP

Once your account is successfully added in our system, then do the following:

  1. Get Static IP
    • In our system, go to menu (Settings -> Trading Account)
    • Click the “Pencil icon” next to your account to EDIT it
    • Click “Get Static IP” button
  2. Depending on your broker, system will give either an IPv4 or IPv6 static IP
    • IPv4 => Only one primary IP is provided
    • IPv6 => Both primary & secondary IPs are provided
  3. Assign Static IP in our newly created API on broker’s API screen
    • IP Type: IPv6 or IPv4
    • Primary Static IP: (You will be shown in the EDIT screen)
    • Secondary Static IP: (You will be shown in the EDIT screen – only for IPv6)
    • Algo Registration Type: Non-Registered (less than 10 orders / second)
