Owners
Give each account owner a small, safe login for daily login, recharge and a kill switch.
The Owners feature lets the manager of a trading account hand limited control to the real owner of that account. The owner gets their own login, where they can do their broker's manual (OAuth) login, recharge their account, and use a kill switch to stop trading at once in an emergency. Open it from Accounts -> Owners.
What the Owners feature is for
When a portfolio manager runs many client accounts, a few actions are better done by the account owner themselves. For example, some brokers ask for a fresh login every day, and an owner may want a quick way to stop trading in their own account if something looks wrong.
The Owners feature gives each owner a small, safe login for exactly these actions — without giving them the manager’s full dashboard.
What an owner can do
- Manual (OAuth) login — some brokers need a fresh login each day. The owner can do this login for their own account.
- Recharge the account — the owner can add funds and recharge their own AutoTrader Web account. See Account.
- Kill switch — a one-click switch the owner can use to stop trading in their account immediately in an emergency.
How to add an owner
- Go to the menu (Accounts -> Owners).
- Invite the account owner using their email address.
- The owner receives their own login to AutoTrader Web.
- When the owner signs in, they see only their own account and the owner actions above.
Why it helps
- The owner always keeps a way to log in and to stop trading.
- The manager does not have to do every owner’s daily broker login.
- Responsibilities stay clear: the manager trades, while the owner can log in, recharge and use the kill switch.
