In short

The Instruments screen lets you search for trading instruments using AutoTrader's broker independent symbols. Pick the exchange, segment and instrument type, enter a symbol, and search. Click any result to see how that instrument maps to a specific broker.

AutoTrader uses a concept called Broker Independent Instruments. Use this screen to search for the trading instruments available for trading.

AutoTrader creates broker independent symbols. It identifies an instrument uniquely by its Exchange and Symbol.

How to search for an instrument

  1. Select an Exchange.
  2. Select a Segment.
  3. Select an Instrument.
  4. Enter the Option type and Strike price (if applicable).
  5. Enter a Symbol to search.
  6. When the results appear, click a symbol to view its broker specific instrument details.
